Arrrrr me hearties. Welcome aboard.
I had to do a little adjusting of the bowsprit before reinstalling it. I also needed to finish bolting the sampson posts in place. The bowsprit and sampson posts are integral so they need to go in together.
There is a bit of play in the sampson posts but not much room for movement on the bowsprit. So I loosely bolted the posts and when the bowsprit is on I’ll tighten everything up.
I 3M 4200 coated the anchor roller fittings and the teak riser block. Putting 4200 on the riser block will help facilitate installation as it won’t be flopping around it’ll be glued to the sprit. It will also help seal the boat against leakage. The old sprit was so incredibly rotten I want to make sure that the new one has a nice long life without rot being an issue.
As always fair winds, following seas, and God bless.
