Arrrrr me hearties! Welcome aboard.
Today we get yet more loot… er, hardware. I had the stainless steel pieces polished and now they’re back from the shop all shiny and beautiful.
Why polish? Well using steel or iron tools on stainless contaminates it with non-stainless particulate. Non stainless particulate will quickly rust in a marine environment so it is imperative to have it polished to remove those impurities.
We also get to have a look at the result of applying penetrating epoxy. It seems to have done what I had hoped it would. I was surprised at how dark the teak becomes when the epoxy is applied but it still looks awesome.
Fair winds, following seas, and God bless.
