Little Bear Westsail 32 refit: Chuck Wood Vlog #48

Arrrrr me hearties! Welcome aboard.

In this episode we’re beginning to put things back in place. Taking things apart & removing them doesn’t take long and is fairly easy. Putting them back is a bit of a different matter.

I start with the sampson posts and get them cut & drilled, then I move on to the boomkin beams where I make a disappointing discovery.

There are stainless steel alternatives to the boomkin and bowsprit but they’re expensive and don’t have the look & feel that a classic old boat like this should have – so I opted to go with wood.

I would like to try carbon fibre but at this point in time carbon is way too expensive.

Anyway, here’s how it went down:

Fair winds, following seas, and God  bless.
